Typed reminiscence of Ole H. Bakken, a Polk County, Minnesota pioneer, originally written in Norwegian in January 1927, translated to English by Mrs. Melvin Petterson, and printed in The McIntosh Times, McIntosh, Minnesota in 1940. It also contains a copy of Bakken's obituary. Bakken, who immigrated to North Dakota in 1880, homesteaded in Polk County in 1883. There is also a letter, with attached notes, from Robert C. Wheeler, Minnesota Historical Society, to Albert Stardig, Bakken's son-in-law, McIntosh (June 12, 1959), concerning a visit to view Bakken's original log cabin.
